Who we are.

World Health Specialists are global health professionals, individuals and organizations dedicated to providing the most current accurate and complete health information. We are from all parts of the world, but have the common bond that health information should be easily accessible to those who need it. Our focus is to provide information on how to diagnose, prevent and treat all diseases, along with other health information.

Why we are needed and were organized.

After reviewing several English and Spanish health websites, we found  health information, unorganized, redundant, imprecise,  unsubstantiated or unreferenced.

When a few good web sites were reviewed, the information was restricted to medical personnel or there were major fees charged by the website to access the information.

What kind of health information is provided?

Although the primary information for each disease is how to diagnose, prevent and treat the disease, we provide additional information, such as pathology, statistics, and funding sources.

We are in the process of providing information and links for all diseases and conditions. Because many of the users are from developing countries with limited training information resources, we are in the process of providing  detailed instructions for medical procedures, including laboratory and diagnostic tests and clinical management. In addition we provided, sources for purchasing medical equipment and supplies, and pharmaceuticals to facilitate the operation of their hospitals and clinics.

We plan to assist in providing telecommunications to remote areas, so that rural practitioners can benefit from the knowledge, and resources of major urban health facilities.

On a country basis we are in the process of preparing a list of specialists for patients .

Health statistics are available for researchers and policy makers.

Can the information be reproduced?

Individuals and organizations may reproduce most information freely, provided they do not do use it for profit and give recognition to the World Health Specialists and/or contributing writer-specialists.

Where does the information come from and how accurate is the information provided?

All information sources are documented. Many web pages come from reputable government sources, such as the National Institutes of Health in the USA.  Other pages are compiled by health specialists, through medical literature research and their experiences.

We are in the process of establishing chat forums and specific disease bulletin boards so the public and professionals around the world can provide health information about their experiences.

Specialists will evaluate the information and present it, but with qualifications.  When sufficient specialists are available the information is peer reviewed before being published.
